HILDEBRAND

After a move to the Okanagan, she assisted several not-for-profit organizations with program development, strategic planning, and general capacity building. This included the development of a Restorative Justice Program for the John Howard Society of the Central and South Okanagan. Following a move to Vancouver Island seven years ago, Carmen applied her not-for-profit leadership skills in the arts sector, as Executive Director for the Cowichan Valley Arts Council. Her passion to provide direct service in the human resources sector, especially Restorative Justice with its wide range of applications, led her to the LRCA.

She has been a catalyst in the development and growth of the Restorative Justice services at the LRCA, including extending the program to include restorative education and circle processes in schools, as well as preventative services for Youth at Risk.
Carmen will continue to provide direct service to the Restorative Justice program. As the management leader for Community Support Services, Carmen will supervise the Volunteer Counselling Program and the Community Youth at Risk programming.
She has been working with the Family and Youth Services team to develop youth at risk programming and has agreed to step up and provide oversight and supervision for that team during a current leave of absence.
