Christmas Cheer 2017 Creates Hampers for 145 Families!

Volunteers prepare 145 hampers for Christmas Cheer program this year!

Every year families needing a little help over the holidays come in and register their home to have a hamper of love and support delivered to their door. Our amazing community brings toys, food, and funding to the LRCA in order for the staff and volunteers to stuff and deliver hampers before Christmas morning.

This year, 145 families will receive a hamper today, on December 22nd, 2017.

Watch a video from the event! Mark your calendar for next year… registration will start mid-November and run until the second week of December.

Thank you to everyone who makes Christmas Cheer a part of their giving.

#CommunityGiving – Sue Perrey – Double Donations

Results that move you… is the slogan of local real estate agent, Sue Perrey.

Her results do more than move residents from home to home. Sue Perrey’s donations this year definitely move everyone at the Ladysmith Resources Centre Association.

Sue gives back to the community in many ways, and this year the LRCA is the recipient of two of her giving efforts for the Soup Kitchen and the Food Bank.

Soup Kitchen Volunteers gather to accept a donation from Sue Perrey (right) in support of hot meals for the community every Tuesday and Thursday.

The Ladysmith Resources Centre Association gratefully thanks Sue Perrey for her support of the Food Bank and Soup Kitchen.

You can learn more about Sue on her Vancouver Island Homes for Sale website.

VIREB is the giver that keeps on giving!

First we received notification that VIREB found out about the Adopt-A-Night campaign and the board approved a two-night adoption. Next Zone 3 (Mill Bay to Ladysmith) generously donated to the Christmas Cheer Fund.

#CommunityGiving – Mischa Weisz Foundation

Two years ago, our first application for funding crossed the desk of Guido Weisz, the brother of Mischa. Mischa Weisz is a man who wished to leave a legacy. A legacy to make the world a better place.

Weisz believed investing in our youth and empowering people to succeed through unfortunate circumstances were two key methods to achieving the goal of his legacy.

We all have potential within us. – Mischa Weisz Foundation

The Mischa Weisz Foundation continues to support youth and counseling programs at the Ladysmith Resources Centre Association.

The Ladysmith Resources Centre Association wishes to express our gratitude to Guido Weisz for his contribution to the management of the fund and to the Mischa Weisz Foundation for creating a never-ending legacy that has enabled our organization to provide support to Ladysmith youth.
