Kiwi Cove Community Garden
This program highlights the power of community collaboration, bringing together volunteers, local partners, and LRCA to help improve food security in Ladysmith while promoting sustainable growing practices.
The Ladysmith Resources Centre Association is pleased to partner with the Kiwi Cove Community Garden to support the sustainable production of fresh produce for the Ladysmith Food Pantry.
The Kiwi Cove Community Garden is a volunteer-led garden program that has been growing fresh fruits and vegetables in Ladysmith for many years. Through this partnership, volunteers cultivate produce using ecologically sustainable and regenerative growing methods, helping provide healthy, locally grown food for individuals and families accessing the Food Pantry.
This collaboration brings together the strengths of both organizations. The Kiwi Cove Community Garden manages the growing and harvesting of produce with the support of dedicated volunteers and community partners, while the LRCA supports the program through coordination, fundraising, and distribution of the food through the Food Pantry.
The program not only increases access to fresh, nutritious produce, but also creates opportunities for community members to learn about sustainable growing practices, volunteer, and support local food security.
Community members who wish to support the program can do so by volunteering, donating, or helping spread the word about this important initiative.
