Dad's Drop-In
Dad's drop-in runs Saturday mornings from 9am-11am for dads and their children ages 0-6. Come enjoy some delicious breakfast, good conversation, parenting skills and peer support. This is a free program. Please email sean@lrca.ca for more information.

What is the Purpose of the Program?
This program creates a warm, low‑pressure space where dads can grow with their children and with one another. It invites fathers to discover new ways of connecting with their kids while forming genuine friendships with other dads on a similar path.
Through shared activities and open conversations, dads can swap ideas, learn together, and feel more confident in their parenting. Children also get the chance to build new friendships, helping families feel more connected. The heart of the program is simple: helping dads and their kids build stronger relationships, deepen their sense of connection, and grow together in a positive, welcoming place.

What are the vision and assumptions informing the Program?
The Dads' Drop-in Program was started in the belief that skilled father involvement improves outcomes for children, and provides valuable support for mothers, whatever the relationship between mother and father currently is.
We believe that fathers can learn the skills needed to nurture their children effectively, and that a father’s interaction with a child often has a different style that is complementary to the style of care a mother gives.
Who Sponsors and Funds the Program?
The Ladysmith Dads' Drop-in Program is funded by the Ladysmith Resources Centre Association, the Town of Ladysmith Grants-In-Aid, Province of BC Gaming and the United Way. The LRCA is very grateful for their support.
