Legion Joins Parade of Gold Concert Sponsors
Royal Canadian Legion Branch 171 Ladysmith B.C. is now a gold sponsor for the LRCA Concerts in the Park series, joining Ladysmith & District Credit Union for the gold support.
Legion’s $1,000 cheque arrived May 10 at the LRCA office, and “our hearts are swelling with appreciation,” said Rick Rake, LRCA manager of communications and events.
Working with Rake in securing sponsorships and then performances, sound personnel and volunteers are Rob Johnson and Janis Beecroft.
To connect with Rake, call the LRCA at 250-245-3079 (rick@lrca.ca) or you can call Beecroft (250-592-5453) or Johnson (250-245-5001).
“In reviving the series this summer, we are planning four concerts, two in July and two in August at Transfer Beach Amphitheatre,” said Rake.
“As a sponsor (Gold $1,000, Silver $500, Bronze $250), you will be mentioned in print/online media and acknowledged at the concerts,” said Rake. LCRA will collect donations from the concerts to help the LRCA provide its many services.
Since the year 2000, Concerts in the Park successfully brought together thousands of Ladysmith and surrounding area community members to enjoy musical entertainment in support of LRCA. However, two years ago Covid 19 brought the series to a halt as the LRCA, like so many other organizations, had to ensure everyone’s safety.
Since starting the sponsorship campaign for the concerts this year later than usual because of the uncertainty around public events and Covid, Rake said so far:
“Our $500 silver sponsors are F+I Installations and Little Valley Collision and Glass. Our $250 bronze sponsors are Bouma Meats, Evergreen Crematorium, Brian Childs Construction and Big O Tires. Thank you!”
