Position Overview

The Operations Manager plays a vital role in advancing the organization’s mission by supporting efficient, compassionate, and well-coordinated operations. Guided by shared values of integrity, respect, collaboration, and empathy, this position strengthens internal systems and communication to ensure staff and programs are well supported.

Working closely with the Executive Director and all teams, the Operations Manager enhances day-to-day operations, promotes consistency across programs, and helps create a positive, trauma-informed work environment where staff feel empowered and connected to the mission.

Key Responsibilities Operations & Organizational Support

  • Support the Executive Director in advancing mission-driven initiatives, events, and cross-program projects.
  • Maintain and strengthen core operational systems that support staff, volunteers, and community engagement, including:
  • Volunteer and donor management databases
  • Website content oversight
  • Social media scheduling, monitoring, and content coordination
  • Standardized forms, templates, and internal communication tools
  • Promote alignment, consistency, and collaboration across daily program operations.
  • Partner with the Maintenance Coordinator to support welcoming, safe, and well-functioning facilities across multiple locations.
  • Strengthen organizational systems and workflows that support program growth and teamwork.
  • Support program staff in delivering clear, consistent, and mission-aligned public-facing communications.

Finance, Budgeting & Grant Support

  • Collaborate with the Executive Director and Finance Team to support thoughtful program budget review and financial planning.
  • Track program budget status and share clear updates with leadership to support informed decision-making.
  • Support the identification of funding opportunities that align with organizational values and mission.
  • Assist with grant development, submission, and tracking to support sustainability and impact.

Community & Event Support

  • Support the planning and coordination of community events, stakeholder activities, and program functions that reflect organizational values.
  • Provide flexible support to meet program schedules and community needs.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong organizational skills with a thoughtful, detail-oriented approach.
  • Experience supporting operations across multiple teams or programs.
  • Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfort working with databases, spreadsheets, CRM systems, social media platforms, and basic website content management tools.
  • Experience working in trauma-informed, nonprofit, or community-based environments.
  • Commitment to fostering a supportive, respectful, and inclusive environment for staff, volunteers, and program participants.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, Communications, or a related field preferred.
  • Relevant experience, transferable skills, and lived experience are valued and welcomed.
