As LRCA applies for its Gaming licence, orders tickets, gets its collection of coloured and numbered balls together, and garners community support on many fronts, it’s nice to look back at the LRCA fundraiser from a drone’s point of view.

LRCA partners with the Ladysmith Downtown Business Association to put on this event, this year set for June 18 with the Hometown Tourism Weekend heralding Father’s Day.

The LDBA Hill Dash is being coordinated by Tylor Nelson, co-owner of Crossfit Ladysmith.  He is working with Rick Rake, LRCA manager of communications and events to ensure not a beat is missed.  Tylor is seeking sponsors and so far is winning.

Adding the amazing support of Town of Ladysmith Councillor Duck Paterson is icing on the cake for Rake and Nelson.  Duck is connected with everyone who can make a difference with this special event for which he has a fondness.

Roads and avenues from Third Avenue down to First Avenue along High Street will be close the day of the event from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. and neighbours along the way will be notified about what to do with their vehicles that day.

Tickets will soon be on sale at $5 each at LRCA offices and by volunteers at various Ladysmith locations.  First ball through the chute is a $500 winner.  Second is $300 and third is $100.

Proceeds go to help fund various LRCA programs.
