Emergency Weather Shelter

The Extreme Weather Response Program provides temporary, emergency shelter beds for people who are homeless during periods of weather that threaten the health and safety of homeless individuals and families.

BC Housing

Funded through BC Housing, the program runs from November 1st through March 31st.

The Ladysmith Resources Centre operates Ladysmith’s low barrier cold/wet extreme weather shelter available to adults needing short-term housing. When declared open, we offer 5-10 beds available on a nightly basis. We also offer a hot evening meal, breakfast in the morning, clothing and sundries.

Our professional staff members operate the shelter and provide assistance and companionship. Shelter staff are also happy to make referrals to other agencies if the guest so desires this help.

It is a safe environment off the streets where individuals can expect to be treated with inclusivity, fairness and respect.

For more information, to check if the Shelter is open, or to donate to this essential program, please contact the Resources Centre at 250-245-3079 or use our online form.
